Feeding Instructions:

Note: Less feed is required when feeding Mountain Sunrise Alfalfa Hay pellets because of their high nutritional content; do not feed more than 2% body weight. Feeding more than 2% body weight of Mountain Sunrise Alfalfa Hay pellets may result in unwanted health conditions resulting from overfeeding. See the Product Analysis for more information.

Alfalfa Hay Pellets can completely replace the forage in any animal’s diet. When Feeding Mountain Sunrise Feed Alfalfa Hay pellets, Horses are recommended be fed 1% to 1.5% of their body weight in total feed per day, divided into at least 2 feedings.

Example: A 1000lb horse would require 10-15lbs of total feed per day, comprised of 1-3lbs of supplemental feed plus 9-12lb of Mountain Sunrise Alfalfa Hay Pellets.

Your horse’s overall condition will determine the amount of total feed required. You should always monitor your horse’s health and condition at every feeding.

Made from 100% sun-cured alfalfa, this hay is grown at a high mountain elevation in Utah and Nevada. This highly digestible pellet contains the following:

  • Alfalfa is one of the best sources of protein, lysine, calcium, and fiber needed in growing horses, lactating mares, and older horses
