Feeding guide
Alfalfa pellets can completely replace the forage in your horse’s diet. Because they’re so nutrient-dense, feed 1% to 1.5% of body weight in total feed per day, and never more than 2%.
Example: a 1,000 lb horse needs 10–15 lb of total feed a day, about 1–3 lb of supplemental feed plus 9–12 lb of alfalfa pellets. Feeding more than 2% of body weight can cause health problems from overfeeding. Always provide fresh water.
